Chisholm Throws Two-Hitter in Debut; Reds Cruise
Rookie RHP Nolan Chisholm threw four innings of two-hit baseball in his pitching debut for the Reds. Chisholm struck out five Mets and allowed just one run. The Reds offense provided Chisholm with abundant run support led by a three-hit game from C Turner Clews. SS Jackson Emery added two hits and 1B Joey Reynolds hit a three-run double in the first inning. Chisholm helped his own cause with a double and two runs scored. LF Sam Tainter and 2B Jasmine Vargas each had a hit and scored three runs. Rookie RF Evan Batts' patience at the plate paid off as he walked four times and scored on each walk. The Mets got hits from SS/RHP John Satterfield and LF/1B Thaddeus Engstrom-Keep. Nine-year-old Mets rookie RHP Alasdair Jenks made his pitching debut.
