The Reds' Nolan Chisholm and the Cardinals' Asher Jackson both pitched effectively in their starts. Scoreless until the bottom of the third, the Reds then strung together consecutive hits from Jett Emery, Jackson Emery, and Sam Tainter. All came around to score. Chisholm, hitting out the leadoff spot, had two late hits including a long triple. He also struck out seven across his three innings on the mound. The Cardinals scored four runs in the fourth inning when Jayke Glidden, Jolie Glidden, Mason North, and Ryan Young crossed the plate. North had a hit and showed a strong arm from shortstop. First year player Savanna Turner notched her first RBI for the Redbirds.

Down by 11 runs through the first two innings, the Cardinals stormed back to win with RBI hits from Jolie Glidden, Connor Griffus, and Asher Jackson. Jackson went 4-4 with 3 RBI and Mason North scored three runs. The Cardinals also got hits from Logan Kelsey, Chase Austin, and Ryan Young in the rally. The Royals jumped out to an early lead on the strength of 4 RBI on two hits by Ozzie VanHendrick. Jahvonn Petrie also had two hits including a long double. Jayson Tirrell, Gordie Kalill, and Riley Morse each got base hits. Cardinals pitchers Austin and North combined for 11 strikeouts and one run allowed through the final 5 innings to seal the victory.

The Mets finished the 2018 season with their seventh win. They ended the season with five more wins than last year's total. The Mets used four pitchers to get past the Cardinals - Landyn Cartee, Gabe Alexander, Matt Satterfield, and John Satterfield. The cadre of pitchers combined to strike out 10 batters. Hits were hard to come by for the Mets but they had four players who took advantage of walks and errors to score multiple runs. Alexander went 1-2 with three runs scored. Will Miskovich, Evan Wright, and Nate Potter each scored twice. The Cardinals got a double from Jolie Glidden who scored three runs. Mason North scored two runs. Connor Griffus and Asher Jackson each had base hits. Jackson also came in from the bullpen to stifle the Mets. He gave up one run across 3 2/3 innings while striking out four.
