The Cardinals' offense had trouble getting going but SS Tristan Evans laced a double in a three-run second inning for the Redbirds. 3B/RHP Jackson Emery hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 7th inning to hand the Athletics' their first lost since 2015. The extra inning game was the first of the year for the league and resulted in a classic with C Turner Clews coming around to score the winning run. Clews had started the inning with a single which was the Reds' first hit of the game. Emery was also the winning pitcher after 2 2/3 innings in relief of RHP Willem Thurber. Thurber allowed just one run but left with the A's up 1-0. A bases loaded walk to 1B Joey Reynolds netted the Reds' first run in the 5th. RHP Josh McKenney tossed 4 1/3 hitless innings for the A's and RHP Brandon Weeks gritted out 2 2/3 innings of relief before allowing the single to Clews in the seventh. McKenney also had two hits and scored the A's lone run in the first on an RBI single hit by SS Cameron Frost. Both teams played crisp defense in the field highlighted by plays from Reds SS Alex Palomba and A's C Alex McClelland.

C Turner Clews also scored four runs on three hits. P/1B Joey Reynolds had five RBI on two doubles and a single. Rookie CF/2B Nolan Chisholm lined two hits for the Reds. He also hit a single and played excellent defense behind the plate. LF Jasmine Vargas had a base hit in her only plate appearance but also made a great catch in the outfield. 2B Jett Emery had two hits and added steady defense. The A's were in this one the whole time despite Thurber's slam. Down 9-2, they rallied for five runs in the late innings led by hits from LF Keagan Systo and C Alex McClelland. CF Brandon Weeks hit a triple and a double. 3B Bronson Finnell and 1B Thomas Bell also had hits for the Athletics.

The Reds' 2017 season has been highlighted by a powerful offense, dominant pitching, and stingy defense. Saturday was no different as SS Alex Palomba and 1B Willem Thurber each hit home runs, LHP Joey Reynolds threw a two-hit shutout and the defense committed just one error. Palomba's home run was part of a three-hit effort and it was his first Little League roundtripper. C Turner Clews hit two doubles, scored three runs, and knocked in two. Reynolds added a two-run double and CF Nolan Chisholm hit a two-run single. The Pirates' two hits came off the bat of SS Patrick Gagliardi. On defense, CF Sam Bogart made a fine catch and C Nick Gerard continued to be rock solid behind the plate.

Led by big games from SS/2B Tucker Sargent, RHP/SS Sam Hall, 1B/RHP Degan Gundry, and 3B/1B Alex Baker, the Giants took sole possession of first place on Tuesday in a 7-5 victory. After 3 1/3 innings and eight strikeouts from Hall, the Giants called on Gundry to finish it off. He threw 2 2/3 innings of clutch relief, striking out five and allowing just two runs. Sargent, Hall, and Baker each had two hits. Hall scored twice and had two RBI's. Sargent scored three runs and C Forrester Avard knocked in two. The Reds got a long two-run home run from RHP/3B Willem Thurber. SS/2B Alex Palomba and C Turner Clews each had two base hits and an RBI. 2B/3B Nolan Chisholm had two infield hits and made a nifty play at the hot corner.

The Reds batters walked eight times and seven of those eight came around to score. SS Alex Palomba laced a two-run single and scored two runs. Reynolds scored three runs and played sharp defense at first base. The shorthanded Red Sox got a triple from RHP/SS Sam Henry who came around to score their lone run. SS/3B/1B Will Hill also got a base hit. Making another start at second base, Noah Perusse snared several hard hit balls.

C/1B Alex Palomba got a base hit and scored a run as well for the Reds. On defense, Reds outfielders Evan Batts and Jasmine Vargas made great catches on hard hit balls. In the Red Sox' final game of the 2017 season, RHP/SS Sam Henry hit an inside-the-park home run in the first inning and scored again in the second. 1B/LHP Brock Longe had two hits and two runs scored. C Harper Cutler hit a long triple and scored twice. SS/1B Will Hill hit an RBI double and displayed great range at shortstop.

RHP Alex Palomba threw a four inning no-hitter in his final regular season Little League game. He struck out 11 Cardinals and walked just three. He also contributed with the bat as he hit a two-run double in his final plate appearance. C Turner Clews went 3-3 with two RBI. CF Nolan Chisholm went 2-2 and knocked in two. The Reds finished up the season with a 13-3 record. Cardinals RHP Tristan Evans got the start and struck out six batters. Evans, 3B/RHP Dallin Wachtelhausen, C Mason North, and CF Andy Cay all reached base for the Cardinals. SS James Fagley and North both played well defensively.
