Hill also contributed at the plate, hitting a two-run triple that gave the Red Sox the lead for good in the third inning. The Royals got an early run off Hill when C Riley Morse was hit with a pitch and came around to score on RHP Ozzie VanHendrick's single. The Red Sox offense exploded in the fourth inning. Another RBI from Hill, a hit from C Harper Cutler, and keen base running led to seven runs in the frame. Rookie Varek Tuma got his first RBI for the Red Sox as well. Royals SS Gordie Kalill continued to impress with the glove as he speared several hard hit balls. 2B Noah Perusse of the Red Sox also played strong defense.

The Mets and Royals played a tight game through the first four innings. John Satterfield of the Mets allowed just one hit and struck out 9 over five innings. The Royals' Ozzie VanHendrick kept the game close through his 3 2/3 innings, allowing just four runs and striking out 4. The Mets's bats exploded in the fifth as Satterfield, Gabe Alexander, Will Miskovich, and Evan Wright all had RBI hits in the frame. Wright and Landyn Cartee each hit long triples. Satterfield knocked in 4 and scored 4 times. SS Alexander went 2-3 with 3 RBI and showed a strong arm in the field. Despite a game where they went through growing pains, the Royals kept the game close early on and had several bright moments. VanHendrick gave the Royals a first inning lead with an RBI single. Kyle Purdy and Nick Manley each made their league pitching debuts and Manley got the final out in the lengthy fifth inning. Royals catcher Riley Morse continued to be a strong presence behind the plate for the young team.

A full team effort by the Cardinals got them past the Royals in a thriller. Down by 11 runs through the first two innings, the Cardinals stormed back to win with RBI hits from Jolie Glidden, Connor Griffus, and Asher Jackson. Jackson went 4-4 with 3 RBI and Mason North scored three runs. The Cardinals also got hits from Logan Kelsey, Chase Austin, and Ryan Young in the rally. The Royals jumped out to an early lead on the strength of 4 RBI on two hits by Ozzie VanHendrick. Jahvonn Petrie also had two hits including a long double. Jayson Tirrell, Gordie Kalill, and Riley Morse each got base hits. Cardinals pitchers Austin and North combined for 11 strikeouts and one run allowed through the final 5 innings to seal the victory.

Nolan Chisholm pitched well in relief of Emery and picked up 7 strikeouts in 2 2/3 hitless innings. The Reds' bats also were going strong in this one. Jackson Emery hit a long triple in the third inning and came around to score on the play. Willem Thurber had a base hit and two runs scored. Will Fontaine hit a double and Lucas Stolpp got a base hit as well. NicK Fortier made his debut at catcher for the Reds and proved very competent behind the plate. He also scored two runs. The Royals showed improvement but were held to two hits by the Reds' pitching staff. Ozzie VanHendrick knocked in the Royals' lone run with an RBI single in the third inning. Ryder Leary had the other Royals hit - a single in the second inning. On the mound, VenHendrick threw well and allowed just three runs across three innings of work.

Jahvonn Petrie hit a booming double in the third inning and came around to score. He also had an RBI in the fifth inning. Cozza scored three runs from the third spot in the order. Iain Cudworth got a career-high three hits and he scored a run. Harper Cutler hit an RBI triple, scored three times, and stole two bases. First year player Nick Fortier had two hard hit balls that went for a single and a double. He also scored two runs and continued to show strong skills behind the plate. Sam Tainter legged out a long triple and stole a base. Nolan Chisholm and Will Fontaine added base hits. The Royals were led by Sean Cozza who continued an impressive rookie campaign with two hits from the top of the order. Jahvonn Petrie scored a run and had an RBI. Gordie Kalill had a base hit and Noah Gagne scored a run for the Royals. Daniel Mahoney-Schmitt had a nice running catch in left field and Nick Manley capped off his rookie year with strong play at the hot corner.
